Stuart Dew has linked up with good mate Travis Head at an Australia coaching session forward of the fourth Ashes Test, per week after he was sacked as Gold Coast’s AFL coach.
Dew has not spoken publicly since his abrupt axing final Tuesday, after five-and-a-half seasons on the helm for the Suns.
Instead, the previous premiership participant with Hawthorn and Port Adelaide booked an impromptu vacation to the United Kingdom.
A good friend of fellow South Australian Head, Dew was noticed in full Australia equipment at coaching forward of Wednesday’s Test in Manchester.
He inspected the Old Trafford wicket and was noticed in deep dialogue with Port Adelaide ambassador Head, fellow South Australian Alex Carey and Victorian fast Scott Boland.
His look in Australia’s Ashes camp follows that of retired Geelong captain Joel Selwood, who shares a reference to the nationwide workforce’s coach Andrew McDonald.
The Suns board met final Monday night time to vote Dew out, regardless of the coach successful a two-year contract extension final season.
