Scottish indie band Teenage Fanclub is returning to Australia and New Zealand in March 2024 to carry out their first dwell reveals down beneath since 2019.
Hailing from Glasgow, founding members Norman Blake and Raymond McGinley will tour alongside drummer Francis Macdonald, bassist Dave McGowan and keyboardist Euros Childs.
The band will carry out six headline reveals, beginning in Perth, Sydney, Melbourne, Byron Bay, Brisbane and Auckland.
The tour announcement aligns with the discharge of the band’s eleventh studio album, Nothing Lasts Forever, on September 22, which options tracks equivalent to Foreign Land, Tired Of Being Alone, and I Left A Light On.
McGinley mentioned of the album: “We never talk about what we’re going to do before we start making a record.”
“The record feels reflective, and I think the more we do this thing, the more we become comfortable with going to that place of melancholy, feeling and expressing those feelings,” he says.
“These songs are definitely personal,” provides Blake.
“You’re getting older, and you’re going into the cupboard getting the black suit out more often.
“Thoughts of mortality and the idea of the light must have been playing on our minds a lot … When we write, it reflects our lives.”
The Teenage Fanclub tour begins in Perth on Tuesday, March 5, at Astor Theatre.
