Downer Group EDI has signed a $4.6 billion contract to produce 65 six-car passenger trains to the Queensland authorities as Brisbane gears up for the 2032 Olympic Games.

The firm and the Queensland authorities each introduced the signing on Friday, following Downer’s choice as the popular bidder in February.

The contract is Queensland’s largest-ever funding in new rolling inventory, or railway autos.

Downer can be constructing two coaching simulators; developing a practice manufacturing facility at Torbanlea, within the Fraser Coast area; constructing a practice upkeep facility in Ormeau on the Gold Coasts; and sustaining the fleet and buildings for at the very least the following 35 years.
