Thousands walk across Sydney Harbour Bridge for FIFA celebrations

Thousands of football-loving followers walked throughout the bridge for the Unity Celebration which kicked off at 6am.

The finest gamers from around the globe will descend on Australia and New Zealand for the momentous occasion which kicks off on July 20.

FIFA Council Member Johanna Wood mentioned it was a wonderful morning of “football, culture and community”.

“(It’s) a fitting stage to set the scene for what is to come in 25 days,” she mentioned.

“We are committed to delivering an exceptional tournament and experience that will not only captivate the hearts and minds of football fans but also empower women in sport across the globe.

“We are so able to go Beyond Greatness.”

Sydney will host 11 matches across two venues during the FIFA Women’s World Cup, which will run from 20 July – 20 August.

Melbourne, Adelaide and Perth will also play host,along with Auckland and Wellington.
