Australian charities raked in $13.4 billion value of donations within the 2020-21 monetary 12 months and employed over 10 per cent of the entire workforce.
All up charities recorded income of $190 million, of which $9.7 billion was distributed in grants and donations to these in want, in accordance with a report by the sector regulator launched Thursday.
Outgoing bills for the charities was recorded at $175 billion.

Donations to 41.5 per cent of registered charities are tax deductible and people with the ATO-endorsed standing usually tend to obtain donations.
The largest single employer registered as a charity was the Melbourne Archdiocese Catholic Schools, which recorded 17,222 staff, of which 8000 are full time.
Second was UnitingCare QLD which supplied 3791 full time, and 9757 half time jobs, adopted by not-for-profit youngster training supplier, Goodstart Early Learning which has 8,948 full time staff.
Over 8000 had been registered as a Basic Religious Charity, which means they don’t seem to be required to reply monetary questions for the annual report or adjust to Governance Standards.
Throughout the 12 months, Australian charities acquired $97 billion, or simply over half of all income from authorities, together with grants.
More than half of all charities fell into the small or very small classes, and a 3rd recorded lower than $50,000 annual income.
