An Australian comedian identified for his savage take-downs of the true property market has discovered himself on the receiving finish of an outlandish charge from his landlord after an “ant infestation”.

Sydney comic Tom Cashman and his two housemates had moved out of their condominium once they obtained an electronic mail from their actual property agent about deductions to their bond.

Performing on the Sydney Comedy Festival Gala, Cashman revealed the agent had deducted $99 after sending a pest controller to eradicate ants noticed within the kitchen and toilet.

In the e-mail, the true property agent instructed Cashman and his roommates that it was the duty of the tenant to “treat or eradicate” ants and hooked up a replica of Fair Trading laws.

Cashman, whose run-in with an actual property agent after asking for a “landlord reference” went viral final 12 months, instructed the viewers that he was confused by the weird – and expensive – predicament.

“I’d never noticed any ants in the place — I swear to god,” Cashman mentioned.

“So, I responded asking for some evidence of this ‘ant infestation’.”
