Rare deep sea shark trawled from depths – but that’s not the only surprise
Land-dwellers have been given a glimpse at one of the vital uncommon and weird sharks lurking within the depths after fishermen trawled the seas off Taiwan.

An 800kg goblin shark was delivered to the floor final week in Yilan, off the north-east coast.

It’s the most important ever caught within the nation’s waters, however the surprises did not cease there.

The feminine specimen was discovered to be closely pregnant and had six pups inside her.

The specimen might be displayed at Taiwan Ocean Artistic Museum.

“The shark was almost purchased by a restaurant,” employees wrote in a Facebook submit.

“After fighting for it, the Taiwan Ocean Artistic Museum bought it as a future marine education resource.”

The museum went on to clarify the “rare prehistoric” species has not often been noticed by people, calling it a “living fossil”.

“Only two ‘goblin sharks’ have been caught in Mexico recently,” it mentioned.

“This species has translucent skin, pink body and evil fangs.

“Because the pinnacle is formed like a goblin, it’s known as ‘goblin shark.'”

The strange-looking creature is typically found near the sea floor, at depths of 1200 metres.

“In Australia, it’s recognized from off New South Wales, Tasmania and presumably from off South Australia,” the Australian Museum said, adding the species is known for its bizarre eating habits.

“When feeding, the goblin shark extends its jaws ahead sooner than every other species of shark.”

The species’ prey items include bony fishes, squids and crustaceans.

Goblin sharks pose no danger to humans.
