The National Symphony Orchestra is celebrating Marvin Gaye, marking the fiftieth anniversary of his iconic album “What’s Going On.” Gaye was born in D.C. and virtually by no means carried out his hit “What’s Going On” in it is entirety – besides on one event when he carried out on the Kennedy Center on May 1 in 1972.
