A Taiwanese man needed in Taipei for alleged fraud was arrested by brokers of the Bureau of Immigration (BI) on Wednesday in Pampanga, the BI stated Friday.
The fugitive was recognized by BI Commissioner Norman Tansingco as Che Szu-Han, 26, the bureau stated.
Che was arrested in Mabalacat, Pampanga, on the energy of a mission order Tansingco issued upon the request of Taiwanese authorities.
“He will be deported after our board of commissioners issues the order for his summary deportation. He will then be placed in our blacklist and banned from re-entering the Philippines,” Tangsingco stated.
The Taipei district prosecutor’s workplace issued an arrest warrant in opposition to Che in July 2022, in accordance with BI-Fugitive Search Unit performing chief Rendel Ryan Sy.
Che has been accused by Taiwanese authorities of being a part of a prison syndicate that allegedly siphons cash from fraud victims that are deposited in bogus financial institution accounts.
According to Sy, Che can also be an undocumented alien as a result of his passport was already canceled by the Taiwanese authorities.
Che is underneath detention on the BI warden facility in Camp Bagong Diwa in Taguig City awaiting deportation proceedings. —KG, GMA Integrated News
