Michael Eric Wahrlich, Melvin Joseph Parun, Peter Glenn O’Sullivan, Liam James Hockings and Kenneth Barnard all died within the hearth.
Inspector Dion Bennett mentioned their households have been notified in regards to the prices.
“Our thoughts are with them and we are continuing to ensure they are supported through this process,” Bennett mentioned.
Police have completed their investigation of the scene and have handed the constructing over to Fire and Emergency NZ (FENZ).
“Once FENZ have completed their work, the site will then be handed to Wellington City Council and the building owner,” Bennett mentioned.
“I want to thank our partner agencies in this investigation, including FENZ and Council, for their co-operation and assistance during this incredibly difficult and detailed investigation.
“Also our honest thanks go to native residents and companies who’ve been impacted for the reason that hearth occurred.”
Authorities will return personal property to residents after the investigation is complete.
