Former world No.2 Paula Badosa has introduced she’s going to miss the French Open after struggling a stress fracture in her backbone on the Italian Open final week.
The 25-year-old Spaniard, who was ranked second a 12 months in the past, has dropped to world No.29 amid an injury-ridden season, was knocked out within the quarter-finals in Rome.
“Just when everything seemed to be fine again, I received bad news just before starting a Grand Slam. At the tournament in Rome I suffered a stress fracture in my spine,” Badosa mentioned in an announcement.
“It has been very hard news after such a difficult start of the season with injuries. This is going to keep me out of competition for some weeks.”
Badosa additionally missed the Australian Open in January because of a thigh harm sustained in a tune-up match in Adelaide.
