Man arrested after alleged hit-run in Melbourne

A 64-year-old man has been arrested practically two days after a girl was struck by a van in an alleged hit-run in Melbourne’s south-east.

Sarah Phillips was rushed to hospital after being allegedly hit after crossing Heatherton Road, close to Avon Street, in Noble Park together with her associate about 7pm on Saturday.

It’s alleged the driving force of the automobile did not cease on the scene.

Paul Chircop, Phillips’ associate, made an emotional plea earlier this morning for the driving force to return ahead.

“She’s a beautiful person. She’s a lovely girl, she’s got a big heart,” an emotional Chircop advised 9News.

The 34-year-old sustained essential accidents and stays at The Alfred hospital in intensive care preventing for all times.

Neighbours and a lot of witnesses stopped to assist Phillips after she was struck and offered first help till emergency companies arrived.

A Dandenong North man offered to police this afternoon and stays in custody.

He is helping investigators with their enquiries.

No fees have but been laid.
