Michael Voss is not within the widespread criticism round Carlton’s inefficient assault.
As the Blues search to show their fortunes round after a fifth loss in six outings, their coach is first demanding enchancment on the opposite facet of the ball.
“I don’t want to be walking out of here and be lost on the message that defensively we’re not good enough right now,” Voss mentioned following Sunday’s 28-point defeat to Collingwood.
“I understand there’s been some chatter around what we need to do offensively and how we can maximise better and be more efficient going forward.
“But the fact is that this recreation’s imperfect and these errors occur.
“How you correct those mistakes and how you flick into defence quickly so you can get the ball back quickly – we’re just not recovering quick enough.
“That’s what we have got to go to work on as a footy group and that is our expectations.”
Carlton managed just seven goals from 50 forward entries against Collingwood but Voss wouldn’t be drawn on his side’s poor conversion.

Voss said young ruckman Tom De Koning will be in consideration to return against the Swans, having not played a senior game since round five.
“Tom’s been off for a time period – I perceive there is a dialog round that,” Voss mentioned.
“I’m instructed he did rather well (within the VFL), from what I’m instructed … however that is one thing that we’ll assess within the coming days.”
