The Philippine National Police (PNP) on Tuesday stated the five-man advisory group has advisable 36 senior police officers for additional analysis by the National Police Commission (Napolcom).
At a press convention, PNP spokesperson Police Colonel Jean Fajardo stated the advisory group cleared the remaining 917 senior police officers, who additionally submitted their courtesy resignations, from any involvement in unlawful medication.
“For the remaining 36, they will undergo further evaluation by the Napolcom,” Fajardo stated.
“And eventually, once the findings are submitted to the President, it will be the authority and discretion of the President kung sino po yung mga courtesy resignations na tatanggapin (whose resignations will be accepted),” she added.
Fajardo stated Interior and Local Government Secretary Benjamin Abalos Jr. introduced that 917 of the 953 senior police officers who submitted courtesy resignations have been already cleared.
She stated the discharge of the names of the cleared third-level cops will depend upon the choice of President Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr.
On January 4, Abalos appealed to senior PNP officers to submit their courtesy resignations as a part of the federal government’s efforts to rid the police pressure of officers concerned within the unlawful drug commerce.
Abalos stated this was “the only way to make a fresh start” within the PNP, as he expressed concern over the involvement of some excessive rating cops within the unlawful drug commerce.
On April 20, the five-man advisory group accomplished the overview on the courtesy resignations of 953 senior cops of the PNP.
