“I just needed to do it, pull the Band-Aid off, so I’ve got up, turned around, and I’ve had this speech prepared for probably five weeks of what to say, how much I love her, how amazing she is.
“I got up, got on one knee, looked at her, and was just like, ‘Will you marry me’ just yelled in her face, “Will you marry me?!” And I’m fairly jovial, larrikin, like having amusing — and she or he’s checked out me and stated, ‘You’re kidding’. And I’m like, ‘Nah’, and yelled at her once more, ‘Will you marry me?!’ And she’s like, ‘Yeah of course’.
“After that, I can’t remember much, it was a bit of a blur.
“The camera got it all and you can see me just sit there and (take) some big, deep breaths before she happens and in we go.”
