Date for Gina Rinehart’s courtroom showdown finally set

Two courtrooms have been booked to deal with the 20-plus barristers concerned in settling the multi-billion greenback dispute over who’s owed Hope Downs iron ore royalties.

The row over the dealings of late Pilbara prospector Lang Hancock and his daughter Gina Rinehart has dragged via the courts since 2010, with the household firm of Mr Hancock’s late former business companion Peter Wright claiming half of Hancock Prospecting’s stake within the Hope Downs 4 mine and royalties from Hope Downs 1.

But lastly, a date has been set for the ultimate showdown — July 12.
