Now there are calls to reintroduce the much-loved tea and biscuit break as analysis reveals a 3rd of employees don’t know the names of their colleagues.
A examine involving 4000 workers discovered 70 per cent take lower than quarter-hour of break on daily basis apart from lunch- whereas some are too busy to take any day trip in any respect.
More than three-quarters mentioned that they felt their work efficiency was impaired by lack of respite.
One third mentioned they don’t know all of the names of colleagues of their rapid office- probably a results of distant working- with 18 to 24-year-olds faring the worst.
Asli Ozen Turhan, of McVitie’s, which commissioned the analysis, mentioned: “It is so important we find the time to take breaks during the working day. Just a short 15- minute break can improve wellbeing and connections with colleagues.”
Charlotte Porter, of the wellbeing charity Mind, mentioned: “Even taking just a few minutes away from our working space can help our mental health.”
