The couple met on the set of the Australian jail drama Corelli in 1995 and have been married the next 12 months. In 2000, they adopted their son Oscar, now 22, in 2005 they adopted daughter Ava Eliot, now 17.

Jackman opened up in regards to the secret to his decades-long marriage in a latest interview on Smooth Radio, saying “honesty and intimacy and making time” is every part.

“You can’t just assume that things will just tick along OK. You have to make time,’ he said in the February interview.

“And intimacy is about really sharing what you’re going through, feelings, and checking in with the other person, checking in what they need from you, checking in, how they’re doing, checking and beyond.

“Just because it’s so easy to get caught up in the day-to-day of life. That’s hard enough. Kids, school runs, whatever it is, sleepless nights, it’s tiring. So you have to be checking in with each other.”

“Well Deb, when I met her had done 20 movies. She said, ‘Hugh, we’re never going to be away from each other for more than two weeks’.
