Girl rushed to hospital after dingo attack

A bit lady has been rushed to hospital after a dingo assault on Fraser Island.

The six-year-old lady was bitten on her head and suffered puncture wounds round her ear, in addition to minor cuts to her arms whereas swimming at Waddy Point Beach on Monday afternoon.

According to RACQ LifeFlight, the dingo “held her underwater for a few seconds before nearby family members were able to get the dingo off her”.

A rescue helicopter was flown to Fraser Island, also called Ok’gari, shortly after the assault that occurred at about 4pm.

She was handled by paramedics on the scene, earlier than being flown to Hervey Bay Hospital in central Queensland.

The lady is in a secure situation.

Fraser Island is thought for its dingoes, with warnings to vacationers to be “dingo-safe” when visiting.

The Queensland Parks and Wildlife Service (QPWS) urges households to maintain youngsters inside arms attain to keep away from assaults as dingoes can seem out of nowhere and transfer shortly.

“Never let children sleep in a tent or camper trailer without adults or wander away on tracks, lakes and beaches,” warning data reads.
