Hurricane Ian made landfall in Florida in late September, 2022, bringing sustained winds past 240km/h, widespread rain fall and even a localised sea stage rise.
This photograph, taken on October 1, after the Hurricane hit, exhibits clouds concentrated in a number of components, significantly the south of the state.
NASA believes the big turquoise patches may very well be a results of sediment.
“The turquoise color is likely sediment that Ian lifted from the seafloor as it neared the coast,” the United States house company mentioned on social media.
“Brown water closer to shore is likely coloured by sediment from land, carried by rivers and runoff flowing into the ocean.
“Prior to the storm, there was already some color within the water, however a lot of that is because of mild reflecting off sea grass beds, the sandy seafloor, and coral reefs.”
