Hussey warned that 24 hours is all it takes for a burst pipe to flood a home.

He said most claims also occur when people are on holidays, like at Easter time.

“As a part of most insurance coverage insurance policies residence house owners must maintain residence in working order, and ensure fittings aren’t displaying indicators of wear and tear and tear,” he said.
