‘Pure execution’: Police union devastated by Wieambilla shooting

Two officers are amongst six killed at a property within the Darling Downs together with a member of the general public.

The two officers, 26 and 29 years previous, had been “executed”, Queensland Police Union president Ian Leavers mentioned, and it was “a miracle” two of their colleagues had been in a position to escape the property at Wieambilla, 300km west of Brisbane.

“It’s the first time we’ve seen police executed like this in modern times. Police were simply responding to a call for service and they had no chance,” he mentioned.

“The remorseless, the ruthless nature of these people is just unheard of,” Leavers mentioned.

“Even people who may not like police at times, they don’t wish this upon police.

“The behaviour of those murderers tonight is completely unacceptable and I feel all Queenslanders and all Australians will stand with us and say that is completely unacceptable, this could by no means have occurred and two lives have been reduce approach too brief.”
