Albo and Obama grinning in the rain as former president lands

Anthony Albanese has welcomed Barack Obama to Sydney after the previous US president touched down to start his Australian talking tour.

The Prime Minister hosted Mr Obama at Kirribilli House on Monday morning, the place the 2 leaders posed for pictures grinning and holding black umbrellas towards a backdrop of a wet Sydney Harbour.

“Honoured to welcome President Barack Obama to Sydney,” Mr Albanese mentioned on Twitter.

The forty fourth president of the United States and his spouse Michelle landed in Sydney in a single day after travelling through non-public jet.

Mr Obama has talking occasions in Sydney and Melbourne on Tuesday and Wednesday night respectively.

He will focus on international challenges with moderator and former Australian overseas minister Julie Bishop.

The Growth Faculty, which organised the tour, has mentioned on its web site Mr Obama and Ms Bishop will focus on “strength in leadership” and “explore techniques for navigating an unpredictable future”.

“In times of great challenge and change, President Obama’s leadership ushered in a stronger economy, a more equal society, a nation more secure at home and more respected around the world,” the occasion description reads.

The value of the tickets ranged from $195 for the standard seat to almost $900 for a “platinum” reserving.

Four Australian prime ministers got here and went throughout Mr Obama’s time in workplace between 2009 and 2017.

These have been Kevin Rudd, Julia Gillard, Tony Abbott and Malcolm Turnbull.
