Inflation is ‘one of the legacies’ of the pandemic and the war in Ukraine: Albanese

Prime Minister Anthony Albanese says the “ongoing impact” of the pandemic and the struggle in Ukraine has had a “global impact” on vitality costs.

“The ongoing impact of that war has had an impact on global energy prices, that is just a fact,” Mr Albanese mentioned throughout Question Time on Thursday.

“Philip Lowe, the RBA Governor, said this about the impact of Russia’s invasion of Ukraine on an ongoing basis, ‘the high inflation that we are currently experiencing is one of the legacies of the pandemic and of Russia’s invasion of Ukraine’.

“Everyone here knows this is a fact and those opposite pretend that hasn’t been the case.”
