Two boys – each aged 16 – had been believed to have been on a fishing journey this morning at Lake Mulwala, Yarrawonga, near the NSW border, when a wave swept the duo from their tinny and dragged them underwater at round 9am.
Two bystanders who witnessed the incident managed to tug one of many boys to security, nevertheless the second was unable to be discovered.
Search and Rescue officers are at the moment looking out the lake with the help of Airwing, SES, and police divers.
