Spotify is on a scroll.
The music streaming big has unveiled its new vertical feed that takes quite a lot of cues from TikTok and permits you to preview podcasts, vodcasts, music and even audiobooks by scrolling.
And the transfer is probably going all about one factor — customers.
“Spotify has 489 million users, about half of these actually pay for the privilege, but TikTok has over a billion and it’s expected to double that by the end of the year,” says markets knowledgeable Sarah Hughan on the newest episode of The West Australian’s new finance present Trading Up.
So will the transfer be music to Spotify’s ears or will customers assume they’re out of tune? Only time will inform.
