Barangay Ginebra made straightforward work of erstwhile streaking Phoenix Super LPG, 109-89, to cruise to its third straight victory within the 2023 PBA Governors’ Cup on Friday.
Ginebra has improved to 7-2, forging a two-way tie at second spot with San Miguel whereas Phoenix halted its three-game successful streak to drop to 4-6.
Christian Standhardinger dropped an enormous double-double of 28 factors, 12 rebounds, eight assists, and one steal whereas Justin Brownlee chipped in 18 markers, 11 boards, six dimes, and two blocks.
Four different Gin Kings reached double digit scoring with Scottie Thompson churning out 16 markers as Jamie Malonzo and Von Pessumal every chipped in 14 factors.
Ginebra beforehand received over Meralco and Blackwater because the defending champions tightened their grip on a high 4 tempo forward of the playoff rounds.
Du’vaughn Maxwell led the Fuel Masters with 22 factors, seven rebounds, and three assists whereas Sean Manganti chimed in with 15 markers and 6 boards.
Phoenix are coming off three straight victories in opposition to Rain or Shine, Converge, and Terrafirma.
