Dozens injured, fears of deaths after trains collide in Greece

Authorities in northern Greece say they’re serving to dozens of passengers injured in prepare collision and fiery derailment early Wednesday.

The collision between a freight prepare and and oncoming passenger prepare occurred close to Tempe, some 380km north of Athens, and resulted within the derailment of a number of prepare vehicles, police mentioned.

At least three of the derailed vehicles caught hearth.

Smoke rises from trains as firefighters and rescuers operate after a collision near Larissa city, Greece.

Vehicles from the fireplace and ambulance companies had been despatched to the scene from a number of close by cities to assist transport injured passengers and free others trapped within the wreckage.

Government officers mentioned the military had been contacted to help within the rescue and that two extra hospitals within the close by metropolis of Larissa had been positioned in emergency responsibility.

Local media has reported at the least six persons are feared useless to date.
