People have been urged to hunker down of their houses and attempt to defend themselves as a serious fireplace continues to burn in Victoria.

Residents have been informed it’s too late to go away and to shelter indoors.

The fireplace has already burned over 700 hectares of land.

As of simply after 2am, the hearth was travelling in a northerly route from Spring Valley Road, Flowerdale.

The blaze has crossed Carver Creek, transferring in the direction of Yea Spur Road.

People within the affected space have been urged to attempt to defend themselves from the acute warmth, which authorities warn can be lethal earlier than the flames attain an individual.
