A powerful Irish connection has served Geelong nicely and it’s about to get stronger with Mayo Gaelic soccer star Oisin Mullin lastly set to hitch the Cats a 12 months after the membership signed him.
Mullin, who elected to remain in Ireland after initially signing with the Cats in 2021, has been accredited for a visa and can be part of the 2022 premiers for the pre-season.
The 22-year-old has been a star for Irish county Mayo, named the Gaelic Athletic Association’s Young Footballer of the Year in 2020 and 2021.
He’s considered the perfect defender in that competitors and can make the transfer to Geelong the place he’ll be part of fellow Irishmen, and premiership gamers, Zach Tuohy and Mark O’Connor.
