Titans Assistant Coach Brett White stated he believed the lady’s life was being threatened at Budd’s Beach on Tuesday evening when he overheard the alleged assault from his dwelling.
Immediately intervening after listening to her screams for assist, White ran throughout the highway, pinned the alleged assailant all the way down to the bottom for greater than 5 minutes earlier than police arrived.
“She was just sitting there…and he’s got out of the car and come across, kicked an esky and smashed everything that was on the table and then yeah, pretty much just grabbed her and pulled her back on to the concrete,” White completely informed 9News.
“I’ve just run across and got a hold of him, and lucky enough to be able to hold him down until police arrived.
“It was fairly vicious. And that is the factor, when does the violence cease? As a society, when can we arise and say we do not settle for this anymore?”
The former New South Wales Blues star was in 2009 embroiled in one of the most iconic State of Origin brawls in history.
A defensive instinct that’s still running strong more than a decade on.
Asked if he believes the victim could have died that night, White said “positively”.
“We want our leaders, our legislators, our court docket rooms to have a powerful stance,” he said.
The 36-year-old alleged attacker was later charged by police.
