Sky News host James Morrow says Foreign Minister Penny Wong noticed match to provide the British folks “a lecture about their colonial past”.
“An odd move, you would think, given our close ties and the fact that they will only need to become closer,” Mr Morrow mentioned.
“I have to say I think this was a diplomatic faux pas, to go over to Britain and give them a bit of a lecture about dealing with their colonial past.”
Ms Wong was pressured to defend Australia’s relationship with the United Kingdom after urging the nation to confront its “colonial past”.
