Sue and Tony Hill had returned dwelling from a visit round Australia to go to household when the trailer was stolen from their daughter’s dwelling in Munno Para, North Adelaide, on Monday morning.
“I came out about 7.30 and it was gone, some lowlife took our home,” Sue stated.
“Our life has just been ripped out from under us.
“It’s so exhausting, I simply need our dwelling again.”
The pair had used their retirement savings to buy the vehicle to travel around Australia.
The trailer’s insurance had expired only a few weeks ago, leaving the owners with nothing to show for their retirement dream.
“I’ve received plates, I’ve received cutlery, I’ve received one saucepan and I’ve received a associate I like dearly,” Sue said, listing her remaining possessions.
The family has turned to social media in hopes that “individuals energy” will help track down the stolen trailer.
“I’ve been on the truckie pages attempting to get the truckies of Australia to assist,” Sue and Tony’s daughter Janene Harper said.
They believe it was last seen travelling along the Thiele Highway.
Harper also set up a GoFundMe page to help get her elderly parents back on their feet, saying they had nowhere to live and only a handful of belongings.
“Through COVID and the rental disaster, they lived homeless for greater than 12 months,” she said, on the fundraiser.
“They determined to take a position each final greenback they needed to buy a portal dwelling, one thing they might name dwelling.
“They were required to sell most of their belongings to be able to move in.”
