Democratic Senator Raphael Warnock has defeated Republican Herschel Walker in Georgia’s Senate runoff race.
The runoff was triggered when neither candidate obtained at the least half of the votes through the US midterms.
Mr Warnock’s victory provides the Democrats 51 seats within the Senate – to the Republican Party’s 49.
