Nationals Senator Matt Canavan says the federal government’s gasoline worth cap is a “complete and utter stuff-up” which may end in “serious” gasoline shortages, as retailers proceed to ramp up gasoline costs or refuse new prospects altogether.
“Labor has tried to defy all history … every historical example of price caps of this nature has failed,” Mr Canavan informed Sky News Australia.
He stated power producers are struggling an “investment strike” from non-public sectors as producers don’t wish to “be beholden” to the “draconian” coverage.
“We should stop this ASAP before more damage is done to our energy markets.
“If we don’t have investments today, we won’t have gas tomorrow.”
