Alyssa Healy will sit out the Twenty20 collection in opposition to Pakistan however Australian officers are assured she will likely be match for the World Cup.
Healy was this week named in a mixed squad for the Pakistan collection and subsequent month’s T20 World Cup defence, after struggling a calf damage in India in December.
But Cricket Australia has since confirmed the vice-captain is not going to play within the matches in opposition to Pakistan, leaving her with out a warm-up collection going into the World Cup.
Healy is a veteran of eight World Cups throughout all codecs, along with her lack of lead-in time unlikely to be a priority for crew officers.
The wicketkeeper-batter top-scored in Australia’s ODI World Cup ultimate win in March with 170, after scoring 83 within the T20 ultimate win in Melbourne in 2020.
“There were some concerns in India when that injury occurred,” coach Shelley Nitschke mentioned.
“But to know she will be on track to play in a World CUp is big news for us. She opens the batting and wicket keeps, and has been part of some big T20s in the past.”
