Importers have been ‘pretty well prepared for this’: China’s COVID crisis a risk to supply chains

Freight and Trade Alliance Director Paul Zahai says importers have been “pretty well prepared” for China’s COVID disaster posing a threat to Australia’s provide chain.

Mr Zahai stated importers had been ready for the occasion as a result of “disruption” the sector has skilled over the previous two years.

“We’ve traditionally been very reliant on ‘just-in-time’ inventory, holding minimal stock onshore but the issues we’ve had with international shipping and the like has forced a lot of importers to change their patterns,” Mr Zalai instructed Sky News Australia.
