Pay rise for NBL players as salary cap increased

Australia’s basketballers are set for a pay rise after the NBL elevated its wage cap by seven per cent forward of the free company interval.

The wage cap will sit at $1,947,662.58 for the 2024/25 season, up $244,423 on the 2022/23 marketing campaign.

The league’s 10 groups can be required to spend no less than $1,752,913.85 on their 11-player rosters, with the minimal wage set at $74,540.23.

That minimal wage will enhance to virtually $80,000 within the 2025/26 season.

It comes because the NBL participant market prepares to enter overdrive when free company opens on April 15.

Melbourne United centre Jo Lual-Acuil has knowledgeable final season’s runners-up he wouldn’t be taking over his personal choice for the 2024/25 marketing campaign.

“Melbourne United will always be a special place for me,” Lual-Acuil mentioned as he declined his participant choice on Tuesday.

“At this time, however, it’s the best decision at this point in my career for me to explore my options overseas.”

The Game AFL 2024

The lack of the NBL’s premier large man looms as a blow for United, particularly as Next Star and back-up centre Ariel Hukporti seems an excellent probability to appoint for the NBA draft in July.
