Lighting and water methods which can be powered by photo voltaic power has been applied in about 150 households in three municipalities throughout the Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (BARRM).
The homes that have been outfitted with solar-powered lighting and water methods have been distributed to poor however deserving BARMM residents of Barangay Tuka in Sultan Mastura, Barangay Raguisi in Sultan Kudarat and Barangay Maputi in Parang underneath the Kapayapaan sa Pamayanan (KAPYANAN) program of the Chief Minister Ahod Ebrahim.
The program was lauded by Bangsamoro Parliament members Amir Mawallil and Rasol Mitmug Jr.
“As a fierce advocate of clean and renewable energy, I laud this housing program of the Chief Minister that recognizes the efficiency and sustainability of solar power as a source of energy,” Mawallil mentioned.
“Solar power is an infinite source of energy, and the Bangsamoro region has been blessed with ample spaces and the appropriate weather for solar power to thrive. I support this initiative and may this be the start of an era where BARMM is a champion of clean energy in the country,” he added.
The long run plan for this system is to put in the identical system in areas that haven’t any electrical energy.
“Solar energy nowadays has low maintenance requirements. So communities can enjoy electricity without paying high energy costs. If this program is successful, we will push for its implementation for the rest of BARMM,” Mitmug mentioned.
Mawallil famous that this system is in congruence with Parliament Bill No. 68, which seeks to advertise and develop the usage of photo voltaic power in all socialized housing in BARMM.
