Shadow Defence Minister Andrew Hastie says Prime Minister Anthony Albanese’s “instincts are weak” and Australians are “working him out” after his responses to the incident with the Chinese navy and High Court resolution final month.
Mr Hastie says Opposition chief Peter Dutton’s “strengths are magnified” by Mr Albanese’s “weaknesses”.
“I think people are working him out,” he advised Sky News Australia.
“I feel he’s a Prime Minister who is just not driving his Cabinet, he’s not throughout the element.
“His instincts are weak and he enjoys doing concert events and DJ stuff – interesting to the youth of Australia.
“Fundamentally, because the Prime Minister, we’d like somebody who’s robust, significantly with the backdrop that we’re seeing now in Israel, within the Indo-Pacific.”
