Move over, Wolf Creek! The trailer for the brand new Australian function movie The Royal Hotel simply dropped and it’s going to provide the cult backpacker flick a run for its cash.

The Royal Hotel stars Julia Garner, 29, who discovered fame within the Netflix hit collection Ozark and Inventing Anna. In the film, she performs Hanna who goes on a backpacking journey Down Under together with her greatest good friend Liv, performed by Jessica Henwick, 31, of Game of Thrones fame.

The thirty-something duo embark on the journey of a lifetime backpacking throughout Australia within the film, which is launched on BINGE on December 15.

But after they run out of cash, they take a short lived live-in job behind the bar of a pub known as The Royal Hotel in a distant outback mining city in South Australia.

And what’s a thriller with no creepy dangerous man? Enter Hugo Weaving. The iconic Aussie actor performs bar proprietor Billy who eggs on locals to provide the women a rowdy welcome to Aussie consuming tradition.

After one too many nights of riotous evenings at work, the women quickly discover themselves trapped in a harmful atmosphere.

While the on-screen setting was regarding, behind the scenes it was a pleasing expertise for Garner who labored with Aussie director Kitty Green earlier than in her debut movie The Assistant in 2019.
