A brand new type of wheat with six instances the usual quantity of fibre is about to hit the market.

The wheat flour was developed by the CSIRO in collaboration with nationwide and worldwide farmers and has proven promising well being advantages when ingested.

The wheat is grown in Victoria and New South Wales and will probably be out there to buy quickly.

”Over the 20 years we’ve been able to make a very exciting breakthrough,” Damien Belobrajdic, CSIRO precept analysis scientist, advised 9News.

“Through conventional breeding practices, they were able to develop this particular variety.

“In a research we performed, it lowered the blood sugar response by about 30 per cent”

The grain also contains high levels of resistant starch, which helps feed good bacteria in the stomach.

“We have to eat extra resistant starch in our diets, Australians will not be getting sufficient,” Heart Foundation senior dietitian Jemma O’Hanlon told 9News.

Allied Pinnacle will launch the product next year and says the grain tastes exactly like normal wheat. 

“Consumers will not be going to detect they’re consuming something completely different,” CEO David Pitt advised 9News.
