Malick Diouf and the returning CJ Cansino towed University of the Philippines previous Adamson University, 68-51, on Sunday of their marketing campaign opener in UAAP Season 86 on Sunday on the Mall of Asia Arena.
Cansino, who missed Season 85 because of his restoration from MCL and ACL, fired 5 from past the arc en path to a 19-point outing. Malick Diouf, alternatively, posted 20 factors and 17 rebounds.
Matthew Montebon posted 13 factors for the Soaring Falcons as they missed the companies of Jerom Lastimosa.
Earlier, De La Salle University defeated Far Eastern University, 87-76, in head coach Topex Robinson’s debut for the Green Archers.
Evan Nelle had 15 factors, 12 assists, and eight rebounds for the Taft-based squad, whereas Kevin Quiambao had 14 factors and 14 boards.
Xyrus Torres led the Tamaraws with 12 factors.
UAAP motion will return on Wednesday on the Mall of Asia Arena with La Salle and Ateneo dealing with one another for the marquee occasion of the day’s quadruple-header.
