Fire sparked by EV battery destroys five cars at Sydney Airport
Five automobiles have been destroyed in a fireplace at Sydney Airport in a single day after a luxurious electrical automobile’s lithium-ion battery caught alight.

The automobile burst into flames earlier than the blaze unfold to 4 different automobiles in a car parking zone on Airport Drive in Mascot round 8.30pm.

A lithium-ion battery that had been indifferent from the luxurious automobile and saved within the lot was the reason for the blaze, Fire and Rescue NSW decided at the moment.

FRNSW and the Aviation Rescue Firefighting Service labored collectively to extinguish the hearth.

Investigations into the incident are ongoing as researchers from FRNSW’s Safety of Alternative and Renewable Energy Technologies staff examine the aftermath of the blaze.

“These insights will assist (the team) in continually developing best practice for emergency response to lithium-related fires, and informing industry on how to manage the risks associated with emerging technologies,” FRNSW stated in a press release.
