Cattle cause chaos in South Australian town after livestock truck overturns

The livestock escaped from the overturned truck after it slammed into the verandah of a house on Ludgvan Street in Burra, within the state’s mid-north, about 6.30am at this time.

Some of the beasts had been discovered roaming the city’s streets and in backyards.

SA Police mentioned nobody was inside the home on the time.

“The driver, a 43-year-old Clare Valley man, was extricated from the truck and taken to the Burra Hospital with minor injuries,” police mentioned in an announcement.

“Sadly, there were a number of injured livestock in the crash that needed to be euthanised at the scene.”

Police are asking locals to report any cattle sightings as extra of the animals could also be roaming the world.

“Police would like to thank the public and other emergency services who have assisted with this distressing incident,” police mentioned.

The street has reopened however some velocity restrictions stay in place.
