Members of the crew that represented the Philippines on the 1978 FIBA World Championship, the final time the nation hosted the worldwide competitors, have been in attendance on opening day of the 2023 FIBA Basketball World Cup held on the Philippine Arena in Bocaue, Bulacan.

Among these within the venue from the historic squad have been Steve Watson and assistant coach Nemie Villegas, who watched the Group A recreation between Italy and Angola on Friday.

Group A can be the group of the Philippine nationwide males’s basketball crew, Gilas Pilipinas, which is about to tackle Dominican Republic of their FIBA World Cup marketing campaign’s opener at 8 p.m.

Gilas may even tackle Angola on August 27 and Italy on August 29.
