A Perth-born band has brutally turned down the provide to be Coldplay’s assist act after they go to Perth in November.
Self-declared “Australian Rock n Roll band” The Southern River Band has taken to Instagram to let their 10.6k followers know their true ideas on the premise of supporting one of many largest bands on this planet.
Coldplay put a name out to WA artists, permitting one native act to open each exhibits at Optus Stadium.
The British rockers launched the competitors on Monday, promising to offer the winner $15,000 and a launch pad like no different by taking part in to 120,000 followers over two nights.
The Southern River Band’s lead singer Callum Kramer recorded a chunk to digital camera, thanking followers for considering of them.
But the gratitude wasn’t completely honest, and it didn’t come with no contact of sarcasm.
“How ya going,” Kramer stated firstly of the video.
“We’ve been getting tagged in this a whole bunch today, really appreciate you putting us forward but um… pretty f..king busy at the minute ay. Don’t know if we’re going to be able to do it.
“If it was like ACDC or like the Foo Fighters or something like that, yep f..king oath, probably be able to make that work,” he added.
“But at the minute for ah… Coldplay, ah nah we’re good… yeah we’re good thanks.”
The sarcastic caption on the video learn “Cheers heaps but!!!” and followers have been fast to react.
“Not sure Coldplay fans are ready for SRB,” one stated.
“You guys have to do it, show all them Coldplay types what a real rock band is supposed to sound like!” one other commented.
“Wait, what… You mean you wouldn’t become sellouts and sell your soul for the opportunity… That’s fecking Rock n Roll!!!” a 3rd chimed in.
But it appears The Southern River Band would possibly simply get their time to shine on the large stage in any case, with American rock band Foo Fighters set to play in WA a fortnight after Coldplay go away.
