Several supporters of the late former Senator Benigno “Ninoy” Aquino Jr. flocked to the Ninoy Aquino Monument in Makati City on Sunday to honor him a day earlier than his fortieth dying anniversary.
Donning yellow outfits, the supporters held a wreath-laying ceremony and tied and distributed yellow ribbons on the monument of the slain lawmaker.
Tindig Pilipinas commemorated Aquino’s legacy and braveness in opposing then President Ferdinand Marcos Sr., calling on the youth to decide to the reality.
“And so, we call upon your generation to galvanize your strength find others who share a commitment to the truth, and like Ninoy, stand firm. Tumindig tayo nang sama-sama para sa kototohanan, at para sa lipunang gusto nating ipamana sa mga susunod na henerasyon,” the coalition mentioned in an announcement.

Akbayan Party, in the meantime, additionally urged for the “continued remembrance of our history, and the defense of truth and democracy.”
“Remembering Ninoy is an act of defiance against fake news and widespread deception. Without memory, all that remains is a hollow democracy,” Akbayan Party president Rafaela David mentioned.
Aquino’s grandson, political science lecturer Kiko Dee gave a chat dubbed “Historyahan”.
