Already with out Tom Doedee (ACL) and Josh Rachele (suspension), the Crows’ absentee listing grew additional with Nick Murray struggling a season-ending knee harm of his personal and star ahead Izak Rankine out with a hamstring harm.
But, whereas they’re brief in defence and with out some their spark up ahead, Nicks mentioned his facet would go into the conflict towards their fierce rivals with loads of confidence.
“We go into every game knowing that we can win, I’m sure they (the Power) do the same,” he mentioned.
“I think the competition shows that with it being so tight.
“They are obviously a step above and so are Collingwood at this point and maybe a couple of other sides.
“But we go into every game believing we can win and we will do that again.”
The Crows want a win to maintain their finals probabilities alive after three losses in a row.
Nicks mentioned the Crows had been nicely and actually conscious of the significance of returning to the winners listing.
“This is a huge game for both teams, I was telling Ken (Hinkley) earlier we have been barracking for them over the last six weeks,” he mentioned.
“We want them to beat every team they play against because they are fighting for spots where we are trying to get into that eight.
“They are doing a bit of the same, they would have wanted us to knock Melbourne off (last week).
“So it is a bit of an unusual one now coming in, it is always a heated affair and it is always a big one for both teams.
“For us we just have to get every game we possibly can out of the next five and we begin with tomorrow night.
“It hasn’t been lose and we are out to this point but we have been right in that space as it is.
“We stick to the process but we know, you can’t hide from the fact that if you don’t win games and we have five to go we probably have to get most of them, if not all.”
With Murray out, the Crows have handed a debut to Irishman Mark Keane to fill their key defender gap.
Keane hasn’t performed an AFL sport since he was at Collingwood in 2021 however Nicks mentioned he was assured in his prospects.
“He might not have the experience some have but he definitely has the determination,” he mentioned.
“He is a great young footballer and hasn’t had an opportunity for us yet.
“He is ready to go, I think he will really enjoy the atmosphere and the environment. We might have to hold him back a bit to be honest.”
